Our family of 5 used Canoa Adventures for excursions on two separate days. The first trip we did with them was the all day excursion to the volcano, La Fortuna waterfall, and ending at the hanging bridges. First, we hiked to the base of the volcano. It is not a difficult hike, but the trail is very rocky in places and was hard on my previously broken foot. Just something to note if you have any foot/ankle issues. The views are pretty but the volcano is usually blocked by clouds. After the volcano, we headed to the waterfall. You have to climb down 500 stairs and back up 500 stairs. It's not too bad if you take your time.....my kids did it like nothing. Down at the waterfall, you have time to swim and hang out. After this, we headed to lunch which was very good! We ended the day at the hanging bridges. My kids really liked the hanging bridges. We saw some cool stuff....coatimundi, a tarantula, bats, etc. Our guide was Rebecca and she was awesome! It's a long day though and we were exhausted by the end. The second trip we did with Canoa Adventures was rafting down the Peñas Blancas River. This was not white water rafting but a calm, pretty river where we spotted crocodiles and other wildlife. After rafting we were treated to a traditional breakfast. Our guide for this trip was Faulicio and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed everything we did with Canoa Adventures and we would definitely use them for other adventures if we visit Costa Rica again!

We did the morning safari tour with Luis aka Bully as our guide. He def live up to his nickname "Eagle eyes" because he spotted so many animals along the river, more than the other guides could spot. We saw many howler monkeys, sloths, iguanas, birds, crocodiles and even a river otter. He was entertaining and informative. Bryan on the bus was very friendly and enthusiastic. At the end, we had some snacks and beverages. They even offered moonshine.
